Frequently Asked Questions

Here's what water professionals ask us most about Bactiquick. If you don't see what you need below, get in touch and we'll help.

How does Bactiquick work?

Collect a water sample, add it to the Bactiquick reagent, and place it in the handheld reader. In around 15 minutes, the device analyses the reaction and gives you a lab-grade endotoxin risk result on the spot — no lab, no courier, no days of waiting. Results sync via Bluetooth to the companion app so you can log, track and share them instantly.

What does Bactiquick detect?

Bactiquick screens for endotoxin, a marker released by Gram-negative bacteria, giving you an early-warning read on water quality risk. It's designed as a rapid screening tool to help you act sooner — not a replacement for full laboratory analysis — so you know exactly when a sample needs lab confirmation.

How accurate and reliable is Bactiquick?

Bactiquick has been validated by Campden BRI and developed from University of Plymouth research, with results published in three peer-reviewed journals. The handheld reader weighs just 226g and runs on a rechargeable 2500mAh battery good for around 10 tests per charge, so it performs consistently whether you're in the field or in a lab.
